The Main Event
My husband, Joe Laguerta, and I got married on December 19, 2019. From the start we knew that we wanted to heavily document our experience. We created a video in 2018 to announce our engagement to our family and friends (featured below). So throughout the course of our engagement we collected all types of media. At some point, we decided that we wanted to make a docuseries of our wedding journey because we had so many projects in mind for our celebration.
Collecting Media
Given the pandemic that started a month after our wedding and our impulsive move across the country, it took us a while to set time aside to gather and organize our media. One of the first things we did was create a video asking our guests to share their media with us. We sent the following video out via our newsletter:
Unfortunately, we didn’t get to make our Dec 19, 2020 watch party deadline, but we are still determined to make this project happen. This should technically be under my “drawing board” blog series since it’s not done, but it’ll get there sooner or later lol.
Proof of Concept
On December 12, 2020 we took a baby step and filmed an interview for a proof of concept episode for our docuseries. The first topic we decided to record was about our Grand Entrance Performance since we already had a blog written up for that experience on our teamJPMA website.
Remote Interview Setup
We rearranged our 500 sqft. studio apartment and did the best we could with our resources.

Editing the Videos
The next step is going to be editing our first two videos. For our first video, one of my maid of honors, Carmiliza Riculan, interviewed us about the entire process. Joe and I also recorded an interview on our own about curating and arranging the music for our mix. Additional next steps include:
Creating style guide
Deciding on video treatment
Designing lower thirds
Gathering archival footage
Culling footage
I’ll update this entry as we get new material together.
